惊为天人，绝对教科书级的表演。在影片中马赫沙拉·阿里凭借饰演的唐·雪利一角，拿到了今年奥斯卡最佳男配角的桂冠；但你不知道，他是完全有资格拿奥斯卡影帝的。其实在《绿皮书》中，维果·莫特森跟马赫沙拉·阿里两个演员的戏份比重相同，只不过是因为导演过于自信，想将最佳影片、最佳男演员、最佳男配角三座大奖全拿下，所以才让两位主角分别进行影帝跟男配角的竞争，最后没想到维果·莫特森输给了《波西米亚狂想曲》的拉米·马雷克，只有阿里拿下了最佳男配角奖项。其实我认为，阿里才更有资格拿到影帝的桂冠。首先从表演层面而言，阿里饰演的唐·雪利更具震撼力，纵然在影片中他不似维果·莫特森那般聒噪，在角色跟形象上也不占优势，但他却透过举手投足，将整个角色的困苦、挣扎刻画的入木三分。说白了影片中阿里的角色也更具层次感。当然维果·莫特森的形象跟表演也很惊艳，但整个人物内心却没有太大起伏、表演也没有太多内心复杂可诠释，而阿里无论角色复杂性跟表演难度都更具水准。因为在整个过程中，阿里所诠释的人物需要时刻紧绷，不能有没有丝毫脱戏与掉线。所以阿里更具拿到奥斯卡影帝水准，甚至跟《波西米亚狂想曲》的拉米·马雷克相比，阿里的表演也更深邃、更透彻、更惊艳、更具复杂感，而如今却只获得最佳男配角，确实有些可惜。
印象最深的是他的声音，好有磁性，吐字又清楚，不快不慢，和人说话娓娓道来，哪怕是被拒绝入场用餐那段，隐忍的发声，如果我是托尼，一拳已经过去了！另外，一度认为他是英国人。
个人认为演托尼的演员更为出色。演雪梨的可能是角色需要，比较隐忍。
